Linnea's Bio
Professionally, I have worked in healthcare over 40 years in multiple settings including Acute Care, Behavioral Health, Addiction Treatment, Hospice, Homecare, Sub-acute, Long term Care primarily in Administration, Quality, Risk, Patient Safety, Infection Prevention and Medical Staff. 26 years ago I started my own company and have worked nationally as a speaker, consultant and providing interim leadership in hospitals and other settings who are having difficulty meeting regulatory and accreditation standards. For the past 10 years I have not had to market because organizations know what I do and contact me. I have worked in 48 states. With the exception of my PhD studies, my education has been with the University of Wisconsin for my RN degree and duo Master’s Degree from the University of Wisconsin School Of Medicine. In addition I received additional education as a Legal Nurse Consultant and a Nursing Home Administrator.
In 1999 I was subjected to the healthcare system myself when I received a terminal diagnosis of colon cancer. This was devastating physically, emotionally and financially but I truly believe I was allowed to live to make a difference in the world with all the patients suffering similar circumstances. Informally I have always been a patient advocate with friends and the patients in the organizations where I worked. Many a time I have battled hospital administrations to determine what is most important: ‘cost or quality’.

Therefore, I chose this route to develop a formal patient advocacy business to share the full breadth of my experience, knowledge and passion to help patients, families and surrogates to navigate our increasingly complex system of healthcare. I work for you; I am your advocate – I do not work for the healthcare system or the medical treatment team. I collaborate with you and them to have mutual understanding and goals. I help you determine if you are receiving quality care in accordance with evidence-based standards.
